At the KFM we believe in selling only high quality products. With that in mind we craft each product with high quality materials that will last. We believe in true craftsmanship not found in our competition. Our boards are made with real lumber, not plywood or other low quality material. Our frames are made thicker so they are more sturdy. The chalk shelf is held on with glue and nails so it will not simply fall off. We use steel nails on our joints to ensure the frame will hold together. We also use high quality hinges and larger screws for security. We tested a number of chalkboard materials and decide real, genuine slate was the best. It has a great look and feel and is non-porous. Non-porous is important because that means you can use chalk markers without worrying about leaving any permanent marks. You will notice the writing surface is uneven, but we believe this provides the genuine rustic look most customers desire. We hope you can see the we have put a lot of time, research, and effort into making a high quality product that you will love.

Our chalk markers are the result of thousands of hours of research and development and are designed to work perfectly with our chalkboards. The KFM eraser. If you spend a little time around the chalk marker community you will find the biggest complaint is “ghosting”. Ghosting happens when you erase your chalkboard, but there is still a silhouette left behind. The easiest way is to clean your board is with our magic erasers. Erasing Instructions: 1. Use a damp cloth or sponge to remove the majority of the chalk marker. 2. Use a magic eraser to remove remnants if there are any.
